Nicholas Poovey, DDS, MS
Dr. Nicolas Poovey is a Board Certified Periodontist, with three additional years of specialty training beyond dental school and who specializes in Periodontics & Dental Implants. Dr. Poovey attended Loma Linda University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He was then accepted into the Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery program at Loma Linda University where he continued his training and received a Certificate in Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery.
Dr. Poovey also completed a Masters of Science degree while in his Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery program. In his graduate program, he received specialty training in advanced periodontics, soft tissue surgical procedures, lasers and implant therapy. He is currently on track to obtain his Board Certification from the American Board of Periodontists. While in his specialty training, he earned an exceptional reputation among his instructors and peers, he excels in helping patients manage their overall health through proper oral healthcare.
Dr. Poovey is a member of numerous dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association and the Spokane District Dental Society. He actively attends conferences and study clubs to discuss the most recent knowledge and technology in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry. New techniques and case studies are presented, reviewed and discussed in order to advance further in the dental field and to learn from others’ wisdom and experience.
Dr. Poovey is married with three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, traveling, barbecuing, snowboarding and hunting.
He is pleased to join Dr. Nygaard’s Periodontics & Dental Implant practice, and contributing to the dental health of patients throughout the inland northwest community!
